Dedicated to bringing cutting edge dance style and techniques to New Braunfels, we aim to provide an exciting atmosphere where every dancer can truly "feel like a star". NB Dance is a welcoming, non-pretentious environment, but we are serious about dancing!
Kristina Weinman is the owner and director of NB Dance & Company, an accomplished teacher and choreographer with over a decade of teaching experience. She specializes in jazz technique and pre-school dance. She is a graduate of Texas State University with a BS in Dance Education and a minor in business. She brings a unique style and enthusiastic approach to dance through original choreography and creative learning practices.
Kristina has studied and trained extensively in various types of dance since 1985. A New Braunfels native, she studied ballet and was a competitive gymnast. Kristina was a member and officer of the award winning CHS Aristocats. In college she studied modern dance techniques and dance education at Texas State University and received several scholarships for her choreographic accomplishments. She began teaching ballet at Brooke Lowden's School of Dance in 2004, and shared responsibility for choreographing and training competitive teams. Kristina became a studio owner in 2009 in hopes of continuing to grow an already thriving dance center.
Under the direction of Kristina Weinman, The Company at NB Dance has found much success competitively. They won top honors at numerous conventions and competition including JUMP, West Coast Dance Explosion, NUVO, NYCDA, Hall of Fame, Encore, TOP, Showbiz and Showstopper. Kristina and her staff frequently travel to Los Angeles, CA to maintain their own training and have taken class with some of the industry's top teachers and choreographers.
Kristina has been contracted as a choreographer and master class teacher for dance programs and teams across Texas. She works closely with several local high schools and choreographed/coached the nationally ranked University of Texas Dance Team. She also serves as an adjudicator for Showbiz National Dance Competition and Crowdpleasers.
Some of Kristina's students have gone on to dance collegiately at BYU Dance, Texas State Dance, Kilgore College Rangerettes, Blinn College Treasures, and the University of Texas Dance Team.
Kristina is married to Justin Weinman, and has one daughter, Emory. In 2013 she made the decision to move her studio from Kyle, back to her hometown to be closer to her family. She is thrilled to be able to share her passion for dance with the children in her community and prides herself on making dance both fun and challenging.
Kaleigh started her journey of dancing at the age of five and stepped into the pre-professional world at the age of eight. She then trained underneath the leadership of Richard d’Alton in his company International Ballet of Houston. For the next seven years, she trained and traveled with the company. She was able to learn and perform pieces from prestigious artists such as Jon Burdine, Jess Hendricks, Talia Favia, Chaz Buzan, Lauren Blakeney, and Lynzy Lab. While in the company she went on tour in Ireland, Romania, and Barcelona. Kaleigh was accepted into numerous training programs such as Barcelona Dance Center (Vocational Training Program), Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Joffrey Academy of Dance – New York (Jazz/Contemporary Trainee), Joffrey Academy of Dance - Chicago,and Milwaukee Ballet School, Joffrey Academy of Dance, Next Generation Ballet. Outside of her training with the company she also studied tap underneath Kim Kelley and Jade Whitmire for many years. Since her training she has taught and choreographed all genres to all ages for the past seven years. Kaleigh is also involved in the Cinderella Scholarship Program as a Local Director and admires helping shape young girls and women into their future selves. Kaleigh is starting her first year in the nursing program at Texas Lutheran University and hopes to continue her education to become a Nurse Practitioner. She is so excited to be a part of the staff here at NB Dance & Company and cannot wait to help your children grow!
Alyssa started dancing at the age of 4 and immediately fell in love with it. While growing up, Alyssa trained at Keely Jardell school of Dance in Nederland, Texas in styles of ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and hip hop. She began competitive dance at the age of 10, and loved everything about it. As a competitive dancer, Alyssa has received many overall placements, awards, and scholarships. During her senior year of high school, Alyssa accepted into AMDA LA's dance program and Mather Dance Company's Bridge into the Industry program. Upon graduating high school, Alyssa decided to join MDM's Bridge into the Industry program in Southern California for a month in 2018. There she learned from some of the most sought after teachers and choreographers such as Shannon Mather, Ashley Gonzales, Brittany Markle, and more. During that time, Alyssa trained in ballet, contemporary, improv/partnering, hip hop, jazz, and musical theatre. After moving back to Texas, Alyssa decided to focus on choreographing and teaching dance. Alyssa has been choreographing since the age of 15 and has found a deep love for it.
Alyssa is so excited to share her passion and love of the art of dance with the dancers at NB Dance & Company.
Sam has been dancing since the age of three. She has trained at The Element Dance Center, Illusion Dance Center, and is currently training at NB Dance and Company Sam has trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop, tap, character, and acro. Sam has been competing since age 10 and has placed highly at many events. Over the years, she’s gotten to train under prominent choreographers and teachers such as Quinton Weathers, Terrill Mitchell, and Traci Carpenter. While attending school, Sam has served as captain of the NBHS Sapphires dance team, and spent time dancing as an NBHS Monocera. She has earned numerous scholarships to attend classes at places such as Broadway Dance Center, Power Pak, and the All Star Dance NYC Dance Experience.
Sam is thrilled to be teaching younger dancers and is proud to call NB Dance and Company her home.
